Youth work in TRIAGOLNIK

The aim of the youth work is to increase the capacities of the young people, to create conditions and to build positive relations with young people so they can respond to the needs of the community.

We make positive relations with youth and they start building trust in us. The youth work is directed toward empowering young people so they can actively realize their rights and in the same time take part in the decision making process regarding issues that are affecting the young population. We are fulfilling the free time of the youth and we are developing their life skills through the implementation of our workshops, trainings and volunteering events (humanitarian actions, sports tournaments, ecology actions, youth festivals, living library, community days etc).

• we recognize youth as equal contributors to the development of the society
• we promote ‘learning by doing' method
• we promote intercultural learning as fundamental part of a healthy society
• we promote a culture of non-violence as a foundation for a safe and civil society
• we promote the voluntary work and the development of the voluntary work that is being implemented for the benefits of the community.

The collaboration with the local community is also of a great importance for the sustainability of the youth work, its recognition and acceptance.

Where do we work?

In 2005, we started with the implementation of our activities in the Youth clubs in the Municipalities Karposh and Tetovo. In 2007 we have geographically expand our activities to the Municipalities Butel, Jegunovce and Tearce and we have enlarge the activities and enrich the quality of our work.

In 2008, TRIAGOLNIK has got the trust from another donator, Pestalozzi, Children's Foundation and that opened a possibility for geographical expansion of our work. Starting from January 2008, along with Skopje and Tetovo, TRIAGOLNIK has started with the implementation of the youth work model in Kumanovo, Kavadarci and Tearce as part of the Proactive project, through the creation of partnerships with the local civic organizations that work with youth in each of the localities: Sovet za preventiva protiv maloletnicka delikvencija – SPPMD from Kavadarci, Humanitarno zdruzenie – Majka from Kumanovo, Centar za edukacija i razvoj – CED from Tearce.
